On Saturday 25th June, Phil Greene, VR Sani-Co’s Business Development Manager completed his first sprint Tri at Leeds Castle in Kent. Raising £427 for the companies’ charity Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust. https://www.jostrust.org.uk/about-us
Jo’s Cervical Cancer trust is the only UK charity dedicated to women and their families affected by cervical cancer and abnormalities of the cervix. They provide information, emotional and practical support to women, their families and friends affected by cervical abnormalities and cervical cancer 24 hours a day and at every step of the journey, they campaign for improvement in standards of support and care and raise awareness of the importance of prevention and early detection to the public, health professionals and key decision makers.
As a washroom hygiene company we decided to support this charity last year, not only to raise funds by giving a percentage of our new sanitary bin business to the charity, holding events like our golf day last October at Stonelees Golf course in Ramsgate, Kent but also by raising awareness by having stickers on our sanitary hygiene bins reminding ladies to have their smear test. Awareness is key for the charity as the earlier abnormalities are found the better. VR thought it was the perfect charity to go hand in hand with our washroom hygiene services especially our sanitary bins.
Phil absolutely smashed it on Saturday at Leeds Castle in Maidstone, Kent completing a 750m swim in the moat around the castle, a 26K cycle and a 5K run, he did it all under 2 hours which is fantastic for his first triathlon. We are all so proud of him and his amazing achievement. The VR are team congratulate Phil Greene! Well done Phil!!!
