Sanitary Bin Design Space at a Premium

With the ever increasing cost of rental space, particularly in offices in large cities such as London, the space allocated for washrooms and WC cubicles in particular has become smaller and smaller. This is to the extent where users are often finding it more uncomfortable to use these claustrophobic areas. Many architects and designers fail to take into account the requirement for sufficient space for the positioning of a sanitary bin within the ladies washroom cubicles. Simply slightly offsetting the position of the WC can dramatically help to provide the extra space required. Manufacturers have also recognised the need to design the bins to fit into these smaller spaces whilst still providing ease of use. This has meant a change from large upright often squarish shaped sanitary hygiene bins to longer, narrower and lower sanitary hygiene bins. With pedal operated sanitary bins, the design of the pedal is equally important and must be able to be operated easily with the heel as there is often so little room for the user to turn round to operate the pedal with the toe. VR Sani-Co based in Kent were one of the first to recognise this and were instrumental in ensuring that the manufacturer of the majority of sanitary bins that they use took this into account at the design stage. This has helped result in an attractive, robust and reliable sanitary bins of which there are now tens of thousands in use. Sanitary bin design is equally important from the point of view of the hygiene washroom service company such as VR Sani-Co, a robust, reliable and easy to clean sanitary bin , if looked after, will provide many years of good service. Long lasting bins not only save costs but also helps the environment in terms of fewer redundant sanitary bins to dispose of, and less energy and resources used for the manufacturing of new bins. The smoking ban in toilets has been a great help in prolonging the life of sanitary bins – cigarette burns on the bins look unsightly and lower the appearance of the area in which they are placed. Whatever the appearance and usability of the hygiene bin, however, still the most critical factor is a regular and reliable service, something that VR Sani-Co are justly proud of aided by their regular 4 weekly service cycle (13 visits per year). This cannot be so easily achieved with a monthly service (12 visits per year) where the bins must be either serviced on different days of the week or on occasions go 5 weeks between service visits. This is just one more way in which VR Sani-Co show their understanding of their customers’ needs, and design there own systems to meet these needs. VR Sani Co work with clients across Kent, Sussex and London providing Washroom Services and Sanitary Care Solutions. As well as baby care we provided additional services including feminine hygiene, commercial air fresheners, commercial soap dispensers, medical waste bins, sanitary bins, and more.
