A time to reflect….

Christmas is always the time of year where you become reflective. You may reflect on the previous year’s achievements or disappointments what with a new year round the corner. In addition Christmas allows us time to reflect on how lucky we are to have the family we have around us.

I’m personally feeling extra reflective this year! Not only from a personal point of view but also in terms of the business, which many of you may know come very closely hand in hand. VR Sani-Co is our family business. Started 20 years ago by my parents Martin and Jackie, myself and my brother Matthew now run the business. 2016 has been a big year for us to show what we are made of. To take all the wisdom and experience we learnt from our parents and use this to grow the business and carry on our exceptional reputation. Something my parents instilled in us both. Nothing is more important than fantastic customer service and an honest approach to business. Whether that’s out on the road servicing sanitary bins or nappy bins or answering the phone to queries we have customer service and “customer’s come first” embedded in everything we do. Our family business has been built on a strong roots but it is now up to us to keep it growing strong.

As a company we have had our best year yet! Profits are up, staff retention is fantastic and we all feel very proud of ourselves. Each and every staff member brings something to the table. The service operatives work hard to ensure all of our washroom service customers across Kent, Sussex and London are happy and the office staff work tirelessly to ensure the company runs smoothly, that the invoicing is correct and queries are answered quickly and efficiently. We understand that if we do what we say we are going to do and what our customer’s are paying for everyone is happy. That is the key to having over 2500 customers that are satisfied and happy with our washroom services, whether it’s our sanitary bin service, nappy bin disposal service, air-freshening systems or P-Fresh our customers are happy without us having to lock them into contracts for their washroom services.

As mentioned Christmas is a time for us to reflect on our personal lives also. 2016 has had its up and downs. But we are lucky to have healthy and happy families. Matt has his wife and 3 beautiful daughters and I have Phil – some will know as VR business development manager and our 2 healthy and happy boys, Henry and Dexter. Our parents are still in good health and enjoying retirement and time away from the business knowing it is safe hands. Our staffs have had some hard times over this last year but with our support within their working lives, have overcome many things and come out fighting. We believe it’s important to stand by our promises that we are a team! One big family that help support through the bad times, as well as celebrate the good times.

That’s our secret! TEAM WORK!
