It’s always great to be able to pay a visit to one of our clients outside of work, even more so when it is for an event for charity, and last month we got to do just that.
In September VR Sani-Co participated in the Pilgrims Hospice Charity Golf Day at (our client) Canterbury Golf Club.
It was a lovely day in the sunshine and enjoyed by all, but the real icing on the cake was that the day turned out to be Pilgrim’s biggest golf day yet – raising a massive £17K+ for their vital cause.
Everyone in Kent knows of Pilgrims Hospice and the incredible work that they do.
Across their three locations, Pilgrims Hospices are highly regarded for their compassionate care, community involvement and holistic approach to care – with the slogan ‘feels like home’ encapsulating all that they do. Their dedication to providing a comfortable and supportive environment for palliative patients, along with their commitment to the local community, has earned them the love and respect of the people of Kent.
We are so proud to have been able to aid in their fundraising, as they offer their services entirely free of charge, and rely heavily on community support and donations.
As part of our google review promise, Leila from Pilgrims Hospice popped in for a visit so that we could present the charity with a cheque for £110 for the 11 google reviews we have received over the last month. For every review given, whether positive and negative (heaven forbid!), we donate £10 to Pilgrims Hospice. Every little helps 😊
But wait, there’s more…
Clearly not satisfied with the physical endeavour of a day of golf, Jo and Phil proceeded the very next day to take on the Ultra Challenge London Bridges Trek!
Leaving from Putney Bridge and traversing the many wonderful sights and delights of London, this trek took in 25KM over 16 bridges through London.
Aside from some tired feet, it was an amazing day, and a wonderful challenge to be a part of, especially with the sun shining and the party style finish line celebration. Plus, we managed to raise yet more money for Pilgrims Hospice! Over £800 altogether.
We love where we live and work here in Kent and we try to help charity and wellness awareness as much as we can. Our sani bins regularly feature stickers to raise awareness for campaigns that may affect our clients, from sanitary bins in men’s toilets, to menopause awareness and breaking the stigma of menstruation health.
As we quickly approach the Festive Season, we are currently organising a clothes donation to help stock up the charity shops before Christmas, with plans in place to take part in the Christmas Tree Pick Up once the festivities are over, all going to… can you guess it? The Pilgrims Hospice!
